In celebration of Black History Month, Wright State University hosted its 2ndKuumba Black Arts Festival, a vibrant campus showcase highlighting the richness, history, and creative expressions of African and African American culture. Named after Kuumba — the Swahili principle of Kwanzaa meaning "creativity" — the festival brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members for a multi-sensory artistic experience.
Live Musical & Percussion Performances: Traditional African drumming ensembles featuring vibrant rhythms, authentic attire, and energetic dance.
Spoken Word & Poetry: Live readings and poetry recitals celebrating Black heritage, identity, and storytelling.
Cultural Expressions & Visual Arts: Showcases featuring fine art, dynamic stage performances, and interactive cultural displays.
Community & Unity: A lively gathering in the Student Union designed to promote creative expression, cultural awareness, and unity across the campus community.
All events occur in the Apollo Room (Multipurpose Room) of the Student Union at Wright State University
