Mike marvels at the transformation underway in Columbus and around The Ohio State University since moving away in 2017, including acres and acres of parking garages.

Well, good evening, Facebook-land! This is Mike George coming at you live — or maybe “live on tape” — from beautiful old Columbus, Ohio!

You might not be able to tell just by looking at this view, but here we are. I’m standing right now on top of a parking garage structure. Because we Columbus folks are stubborn AF about driving our cars, we’ve got acres and acres of parking garages, everywhere! Because Lord knows we don't have enough space for our 2.4 vehicles.

Now, you know me; I’m pretty low maintenance. My vehicle consists of WANDA! Let me see if I can get the camera fixed so you can see her the way she was meant to be seen. Oh, wait—fuck me, I just realized I left the Bluetooth speakers on Wanda, so the audio is probably trying to record from her instead of my earphones. I’ll just have to infer by the viewer count; if it stays at zero, that usually means a loss of audio because nobody has time for bad audio.

I’ll admit, I made the "wise" choice once again to smoke a bowl before going on air without a specific topic, so I’m just rambling here. I hope nobody else is in this parking lot thinking I’m nuts, but honestly, all I care about is you, my dear viewers, and your infinite wisdom. Look at Wanda—she’s starting to look like she needs some repairs, but then again, now that I’m 30-something-blank years old, I probably need more repairs than she does.

The big news is that I’m finally back in Ohio. It’s been eight months since I departed my beloved home in Louisiana, and man, what an eight months it has been. Since the start of 2023, my journey has taken me through Alexandria, Natchez, New Orleans, Mansfield, and Galion before finally landing here for a Columbus reprise.

For the veterans of this show, you know I lived in Columbus previously from 2012 to 2017. Those were the golden years—my first job out of school after my time in Montreal and McGill. I spent about five or six years in this city, and I feel like I've given the proper tour to every friend who has ever come to visit me here.
