Sunday Night Scramble

Struggling on a disorganized Sunday evening, Mike prepares to pick up groceries and is helped by his neighbor Tracy, who comes by to assist with installing a lock on his back door.

Good evening, everyone! This is Mike George coming at you on this beautiful Sunday night, 28 May 2022. I can’t believe we’re already halfway through the year. Before I head out to the magical world of Albertsons, I’ve got to tell you: I’m still stuck on those $4 strawberries. Seriously, 2 pounds for $4.00?! Maybe I’m just showing off how cheap I am, but that’s a steal!

Anyway, I’m trying to get my life together before I embark on this mission. It’s almost 21:00, so the deli counter is probably closed, but that’s fine. I’m going for the clearance meat. With the price of beef these days, you’ve got to hunt for those deals. Though, honestly, I’ve noticed steak prices have stayed surprisingly constant compared to ground beef. Don’t ask me how the economy works, though; I just buy things and eat them.

I need to find my high-visibility gear because safety first, kids. Don't be walking around at night without it. Of course, as soon as I get to the door, I realize I’ve forgotten something. Then I go back in, find the thing, and realize I’ve forgotten why I went back in. It’s a whole loop. If I’m losing track of things like this now, I’m definitely ready for the robots to take over and start taking care of me.

I’m also trying to coordinate a two-phone system for the music because Facebook Live is confusing. I need one phone for the stream and a 'burner' phone for the music, otherwise, the audio just doesn't work right. It’s like windshield wipers that are slightly out of sync — you know that feeling?

While I was trying to get out the door, my neighbor Tracy stopped by. He’s helping me with a lock installation. I’ve been rearranging the whole house and redoing the electrical, so nothing is 'stage-ready' right now. I’ve reached that point where I’ve moved everything and forgotten the new 'home' positions for my wallet, keys, and phone. I’m basically spending the night walking in circles.

I’m going to go help Tracy with this lock situation so I can actually get some sleep tonight. Take care of yourselves, and please, take care of someone else. Catch y’all later!
