I’m Mike George, broadcasting live from Portland, Oregon. It’s a beautiful Thursday morning, 20 August 2020, and I’ve got quite a bit on my mind to share with you all.

To start things off, I want to play both the American and Canadian national anthems. As a former Canadian, I feel it’s important to honor my roots, even if I’m still working on remembering all the lyrics. This stream is a bit of an "international edition" for me.

I’m currently in my morning routine — what I call my "Westworld loop." I’ve got my coffee and I’m smoking, which is just my way of making this feel like a normal day at the office. I’ve always liked the idea of those old-school bosses who had a liquor cabinet and a listening ear; I hope to be that kind of leader for my team one day — someone people can actually talk to when they’re having a rough time.

I’m also excited to announce that I’m planning a "glamping retreat" for this coming spring. I’m already looking for talent! Nicholas, I see you in the comments — I’d love to have you join us as a piano player. I want this retreat to be filled with real musicians and creative energy. I’m getting the event pages set up today since I’m officially "off the clock."

As I look at the map behind me, I’m reflecting on my travels through Quebec, Ontario, and BC. There’s still so much of the continent I want to see. I’ve also been thinking about time—specifically that old show The Adventures of Pete & Pete — because our spring retreat is going to coincide with the start of daylight savings. It’s going to be a trip!

On a more serious note, I’ve been following Robert Reich’s commentary on the economy and the Dakota Access Pipeline. It’s important to stay informed about how these national issues affect our daily lives. If his advice helps you make some money on the stock market today, feel free to send a little my way!

To wrap things up, I’m playing some music from The Cranberries. It takes me right back to being a kid in the 90s. Life is moving fast; even my personal habits are changing, as I’ve actually been smoking less lately, despite my boyfriend managing a dispensary.
