Columbus Beckons Paula’s First Visit to the US
Mike shows Paula around his former stomping grounds in Columbus during her first time visiting the United States.
Good evening, Facebook land! This is Mike George here in Columbus, Ohio, joined by Paula.
Paula:
Hi everyone! It’s so nice to meet you all.
Mike:
We are both visiting from our home in Montreal, but this is a special occasion because it is Paula’s first time ever on American soil! We’re currently hanging out at a place called AWOL, just having a drink and relaxing after a long, hard day of driving.
Paula:
I must say, the procedure at the border went very quickly, which was a really nice surprise. The border agents were actually very nice to us.
Mike: (laughing)
Yeah, it was great they didn't find the weed in the car! That was definitely a point in their favor; I was a little nervous about that. But tell them, Paula, what have you thought of the trip so far?
Paula:
I would love to! I have to say that I loved the city of Cleveland —it was marvelous! There is so much space everywhere, and the landscape is filled with trees. Even though the trees have no leaves right now, it’s still a very nice view.
Mike:
She really appreciated those “wide open spaces.” We might have to listen to that country song later. We’ve had a busy route so far, traveling through Buffalo, Cleveland, and now Columbus. We also saw a bit of Pennsylvania on the way.
Paula:
Yes, the Pennsylvania landscape featured an enormous lake. It is so big that it almost looks like a sea.
Mike: * It really does. Oh, look, we have AJ and Connie watching us—hi guys!. And Les, you need to get down here to A-Wall and join us.
Paula: (waving)
Hello!
Mike:
I’m not sure if anyone can even hear us over this music, so we’re going to let you all go, Facebook land. Coming to you live from Columbus, Ohio, this is Paula and Mike.
Paula:
Bye-bye!
